Akar units are modular indoor vertical farms built in-house in Indonesia: frame, LED grow lights, sensors and IoT. They stack from a single layer to a full growing tower and fit where people actually eat.

Akar
The modular unit behind the brand
The original akar.farm homepage introduced two products side by side: Akar and Akar+, both offered for rent ("Rental Sekarang").
Each unit is a controlled growing space. Lighting, temperature, humidity and water are managed inside the cabinet, so plants are protected from pests and disease and harvests do not depend on the weather.
Akar designs and makes the components itself: "LED grow light, frame unit, way to sensors, and IoT" (MIT Solve, 2023).
